CENTER DIRECTOR II – FRANKLIN COUNTY
The Center Director II functions as the Center Director/Family Advocate for the Head Start Center. This position is responsible for directing and supervising all center activities as they relate to the overall goal of the program, and the delivery of services to assigned Head Start enrollees and their families.
Minimum requirement include a baccalaureate or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education, or; a baccalaureate or advanced degree in a related field, e.g. Social Work, Human Sciences, Psychology which includes six or more courses in Early Childhood Education and/or Child Development. Must have five or more years’ experience working with preschool children in an early childhood development program. A Florida Childcare and Education Program Director Credential is required. Candidate must have completed 45 hour DCF Childcare training. Must have or be willing to obtain Adult and Pediatric CPR and First Aid Certifications within 60 days from date of hire. Pay range is $16.00 – $18.00 per hour based on experience. This is a year-round position.
The Family Advocate is responsible for the recruitment of students for the Head Start program for 3 and 4 year-old children and the delivery of services to assigned Head Start enrolled students and their families. This includes the development and implementation of a plan to address any issues that may hinder a family to become an active and involved part of the child’s learning experience.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, (e.g. Social Work, Human Sciences or Psychology). Five (5) years of experience in a community service program or agency may be substituted for two (2) years of college. Candidate must have valid Florida driver’s license and own transportation with liability insurance. Pay range is $15.00 – $17.00 per hour based on experience. This is a year-round position.
The Capital Area Community Action Agency Head Start Program is accepting applications for the 2017 – 2018 school year to begin in August, 2017 for the following positions:
The Head Start Teacher prepares and implements appropriate curriculum and performance standards for 3- and 4-year-old students, conducts ongoing observations, assessments and maintains anecdotal records for children. The Teacher also supervises the Teacher Assistant assigned to the class.
A Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development or related field is required, and at least two (2) years’ experience in child care in a classroom setting. Salary Range: $12.59 – 16.00/hour based on experience and credentials.
The Teacher Assistant is responsible for assisting the Teacher in the planning of classroom activities, conducting ongoing observations, and assisting with periodic home visits and parent conferences. Position requires an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Development or related field, and one (1) year of experience in child care preferably in a classroom setting. Candidate must have completed 45 hours of State Mandated Training. Salary Range: $10.10 – $13.50/hour based on experience and credentials.
Substitutes work on an as-need basis to assist the classroom staff with classroom activities. Candidates must have completed 45 hours of DCF State Mandated Training. At least one (1) year of experience in child care preferably in a classroom setting is preferred. Hourly rate is $10.10.
The cook is responsible for preparing nutritious and well-balanced meals for Head Start enrollees. Must prepare a monthly menu, order supplies and maintain records. This position requires a High School diploma or a G.E.D. Candidate must obtain First Aid and CPR certification within 90 days of employment and must be able to pass all background screenings, local, state, FDLE and drug screenings. Salary: $10.10/hr.
All candidates for Head Start classroom positions must present a transcript outlining specific Early Childhood Education classes before an interview is granted. DCF state mandated training (45 hours) is also required for all classroom positions.
