The membership of the Board of Directors of the Capital Area Community Action Agency is very diverse. As outlined in the bylaws, one-third of the members of the Board are elected public officials, currently holding office, or their representatives; at least one-third of the members are persons representative of the poor in the area served; and the remainder of the members are officials or members of the business, industry, labor, religious, welfare, education, or other major groups and interests in the community. The membership of the Board shall consist of not less than a total of fifteen (15) and not more than a total of twenty-seven (27). Member terms shall not exceed three years, and shall be staggered such that no more than three representatives of each sector represented will have terms expire in the same calendar year.
